clutter free

Have you ever had to make a choice of whether you should give something you loved away? I did this month when I had a yard sale.I was totally bummed out, sorting mountains of clothing and other stuff.I had the hardest time trying to decide what pile to put certain pieces in.I had a pile for goodwill, yard sale, consignment and eBay.I needed to get this done, because my closet was a total mess.I feel so much better now that I have more room. Why hold onto things you have never worn or haven't worn in years.

I added these gorgeous ethnic belts to my eBay pile.Hope to have these in the shop this week.I have a terrible habit of buying things I never wear.Do you have clothes you never wear? What do you do with clothes you never wear?

Clog lovin....

Tonight I decided to add a few items to shop My Favorite Pieces. My fave item in the shop are the Born brown leather clogs. I decided I needed to find a good home for them, because I have never worn them.I have so many pairs of shoes right now,so why hold onto something you will never wear.Clogs were really hot this spring/summer, but will carry you into fall.I've spotted so many styles of clogs,so If  you're into heels, flats, boots, or open toes there will be a clog just right for you.I prefer the high heel styles, because I'm really short.

Vintage Arm Candy...vintage bracelets

Vintage arm candy is the name of my second store, that will open 2011, if I can get it together. The store will consist of unique handpicked one of a kind bracelets and handbags, from the 20's-80's. Each piece will be unique, eye popping ,candy colored and edgy. I love collecting bracelets, from bangles to charms, costume, sterling silver, gold,Bakelite and precious stones. This summer I've been on the hunt, hope to find more Bakelite pieces, one of my faves, but very hard to find.

Bakelite bracelets my fave

If you don't know what Bakelite is , let me tell you.Bakelite is an early plastic(thermosetting phenol formaldehyde resin), developed in 1907–1909 by Belgian chemist Dr. Leo Baekeland. Bakelite was used for a variety of things, such as cases for radios, telephones, kitchenware, and toys. But in the 20's and 30's Bakelite was mostly used for jewelry, from bracelets, pins to earrings. This form of jewelry is the most sought out collectible right now. You can find many pieces of Bakelite jewelry on eBay and in vintage shops, just make sure you are paying for the real thing.

Here are some of my favorite vintage bracelets sold
