three trends

Hi everyone,I'm sorry I've been MIA again and now I'm back.On today's blog I thought I'd share three fall trends Wendy Williams presented on her show today.Wendy showed high and low end pieces of these three fall trends.I'm sharing vintage pieces of Wendy's three trends for fall, from Etsy.I love Etsy because there are so many great vintage shops to choose from, when shopping trends.Another great place to shop trends is at your local thrift store. When it comes to trends I prefer spending less and more on classics.

Would you wear any of these three trends for fall?

of the three I prefer the maxi skirt

Pretty N Pink

Today I'm going to goodwill to let go of a few of my favorite pieces.I have piles of clothing, accessories and handbags. Some pieces were hard to let go....could I be a clothing hoarder? I have this vintage pink sweater I want to keep but it's stained, not due to age,but because of me.I think I spilled a cleaner or bleach on the sleeve.I know some vintage pieces can be restored.I think I'll try this bleach repair tip for now or maybe redesign this piece.

Love of Aigner

 circa 1970

my fave vintage Etienne Aigner picks

.
Recognizable horseshoe logo symbol, classic timeless handbags. Etienne Aigner started in Europe, designing mostly for the elite, then he conquered America, with his signature handbags, known for high quality, modern style, with Italian influences.

I love collecting Etienne Aigner vintage bags, I've found so many different styles of this classic line of handbags, from totes, sling bags, clutches, straw bags, satchels and slouch bags, in blue, black, red burgundy, and burgundy wine. Most of Etienne Aigner handbags are known for their signature color, burgundy. Etienne Aigner bags will last a life time, because most of the vintage bags I've found are all in excellent condition. I love this line, hope to find many more other styles to collect and for the shop.

owl obsession

I found a new collection passion, my love of owls. My owl collection is small, so I'm searching for pieces to add. I hope to find many unique pieces on the web. There are so many vintage shops with a variety of owl pieces.I love owls so much, I recently  thought about having a shop specializing in the sale of all vintage owl pieces. There are so many other people out there with this same obsession.

Owls are fascinating creatures. Of all an Owl's features, perhaps the most striking is its eyes.

Cinch IT, Vintage Cinch Belts

Cinch belts are here to stay. A cinch belt is the perfect accessory to accentuate your curves.Women in the past have always desired that tiny waistline. One way they achieved it is with the use of corsets, very popular in the 1900's,but have been around since the 16th and 17th centuries.

Another way women could accentuate their waist was with a cinch belt.Cinch belts became a popular trend in the 80's and early 90's. Now this style of belt has made its way back in style today , and here to stay. There's an array of cinch belt styles today to choose from. There are stretchy, leather and woven cinch belts available , so take your pick. If a cinch belt isn't your style, just try one on , you will be amazed of how sexy they make you feel.

Here are some of my favorite vintage cinch belt picks. These lovely belts will be in the shop this weekend.I  have a few estate sales to attend this weekend.I hope to find many more unique one of a kind belts to add to the shop. I love collecting belts, but handbags I can't live without.

Denim & Caramels

Marc Jacobs $1,795.00

I'm so in love with this summer seasons brown and caramel tone handbags, from hobos to oversize fringe. This color is the perfect fit for denim. No matter what style you choose, these caramel brown tones stand out. Here are a few of my favorite brown caramel tone designer bags from Neiman Marcus and Nordstroms. These bags are quite pricey, but if the price isn't in your budget, you can find similar pieces at, thrift or vintage shops.

Fossil hobo $160

I found the cutest caramel hobo bag at a thrift store recently,in excellent new condition. I carry this bag everywhere, paired with jeans and a cute bohemian top. I have gotten so many compliments on this bag. I wanted to add it to the shop, but I decided to keep it, too cute not to carry.I'm definitely a frugal fashionista, when it comes to trends sometimes.

THE KELLY HANDBAG

The Kelly style handbag was named after American actress Grace Kelly. When Kelly was pregnant, she used a large Hermes bag to cover her belly, from photographers, the camera captured a shot. Kelly was pictured all over the world with the Hermes bag, they decided to name their bag after Kelly. The Hermes Kelly bag is still very popular today,by most celebrities and those who can afford this pricey bag.If the Hermes price isn't in your budget, there are other vintage Kelly style bags available today.

Model Twiggy 60's/70's biggest fashion icon

I love the fashions from the 60's and the 70's. These are two of my favorite eras, but the 20's era is still number one. I love the 60's/70's because of the diverse trends, from mini skirts, bold prints, hippie style, skinny jeans and asymmetrical hairstyles. The bob hairstyle I just love, wore that style in the 80's,maybe I'll try it again this year.

My Fav photo of model Linda Evangelista

I love this image, very mod,the look of the 60's style.Love the style of pairing a micro mini with white go go boots. Her hair cut has that 60's flair with a modern touch. You can create fashions from the past with the right styling and makeup in any photo. Vintage stores and thift stores are the best places for fashion stylist, to find pieces for old vintage photo shoots.

COCO CHANEL Chain strap handbags

COCO CHANEL STYLE

The quilted black chain bag known as the Coco Chanel style handbag is back again. This spring season you will see this classic timeless piece, from totes, cross bodies, double straps and pouch styles. If Chanel isn't in your budget, then try a vintage quilted chain bag. Many vintage shops have an array of very unique to classic styles of this bag. I've spotted several quilted bags on eBay and etsy, in bright colors, whites, suede and funky prints. My favorite style of the chain purse is the cross body, great look paired with skinny jeans and a casual top, right for day or night, truly glamorous. I think the black quilted chain bag will always be a true classic.

Vintage Arm Candy...vintage bracelets

Vintage arm candy is the name of my second store, that will open 2011, if I can get it together. The store will consist of unique handpicked one of a kind bracelets and handbags, from the 20's-80's. Each piece will be unique, eye popping ,candy colored and edgy. I love collecting bracelets, from bangles to charms, costume, sterling silver, gold,Bakelite and precious stones. This summer I've been on the hunt, hope to find more Bakelite pieces, one of my faves, but very hard to find.

Bakelite bracelets my fave

If you don't know what Bakelite is , let me tell you.Bakelite is an early plastic(thermosetting phenol formaldehyde resin), developed in 1907–1909 by Belgian chemist Dr. Leo Baekeland. Bakelite was used for a variety of things, such as cases for radios, telephones, kitchenware, and toys. But in the 20's and 30's Bakelite was mostly used for jewelry, from bracelets, pins to earrings. This form of jewelry is the most sought out collectible right now. You can find many pieces of Bakelite jewelry on eBay and in vintage shops, just make sure you are paying for the real thing.

Here are some of my favorite vintage bracelets sold
