Mad for Plaid

Sorry readers, I've been MIA lately, busy celebrating my b-day.Tonight I thought I'd share one of my fave fall/winter trends. Shop your closet for anything plaid....dig deep, I know you have something plaid in there.I shopped my closet, with the luck of finding a few pieces. I'm sure I'll spot other unique plaid pieces on my thrifting outing this weekend. I found these lovely vintage goodies above, a couple of years ago. The wool cape coat was spotted at a thrift shop and the wool military blazer from my mom's closet.Although these lovely vintage pieces are no longer with me,I will always cherish their beauty.

What would you wear with plaid?

The little red coat

New to the shop, toddler girls Rothschild red swing military pea coat...oh so cute.I spotted this coat a couple of  years ago on an antique hunt, not expecting to purchase kids apparel, because I have no kids. I guess I fell in love with this coat due to price and cuteness.I have no nieces and my nephews couldn't use it,so why not add it to the shop.I had it for sale last Christmas, but added it to the shop a little too late,Christmas was almost here. I think shoppers got an early start that year,so this year I'm putting it in the shop early...September.

I love this Rothschild coat ,it's one of  Rothschilds signature styles...velvet collar, princess cut and wool. The Rothschilds brand is the most sought out brand for kids coats and outerwear in the United States. If the little red coat sales,it's great to know that a fashionable little tot will be wearing this on Christmas day.

Clog lovin....

Tonight I decided to add a few items to shop My Favorite Pieces. My fave item in the shop are the Born brown leather clogs. I decided I needed to find a good home for them, because I have never worn them.I have so many pairs of shoes right now,so why hold onto something you will never wear.Clogs were really hot this spring/summer, but will carry you into fall.I've spotted so many styles of clogs,so If  you're into heels, flats, boots, or open toes there will be a clog just right for you.I prefer the high heel styles, because I'm really short.

Beauty Sleep

Hi everyone, sorry I've been MIA ,so busy this month, that I haven't had any time to blog. Helping my beau move and now doing a little bit of decorating. I'm trying to come up with some decorating ideas for a guest bedroom. Here a few of my pics from several designers on HGTV. I love this site, they have so many looks to choose from. I'm undecided, should I do contemporary, traditional or modern.

What do you think?

thrifty finds

Bosca leather tote

Francesco Biasia

Here are some of my favorite designer thrifty finds. Thrift stores can be great places to find authentic designer and name brand handbags. If you think thrift stores have nothing but junk, that's not true. I  find so many authentic designer bags in  thrift stores. To find the best , you need to take your time look through every piece , its like a hunt. I always look for bags in excellent condition, because repairs can be quite expensive for designer bags. Sometimes there are designer bags there that are not authentic, so be sure you know how to authenticate a particular bag. There are websites that provide information on how to authenticate designer handbags, from Juicy Couture, Coach, Louis Vuitton, etc.
All of these lovely bags are available now at shop My Favorite Pieces.

Love of Aigner

 circa 1970

my fave vintage Etienne Aigner picks

.
Recognizable horseshoe logo symbol, classic timeless handbags. Etienne Aigner started in Europe, designing mostly for the elite, then he conquered America, with his signature handbags, known for high quality, modern style, with Italian influences.

I love collecting Etienne Aigner vintage bags, I've found so many different styles of this classic line of handbags, from totes, sling bags, clutches, straw bags, satchels and slouch bags, in blue, black, red burgundy, and burgundy wine. Most of Etienne Aigner handbags are known for their signature color, burgundy. Etienne Aigner bags will last a life time, because most of the vintage bags I've found are all in excellent condition. I love this line, hope to find many more other styles to collect and for the shop.

Model Twiggy 60's/70's biggest fashion icon

I love the fashions from the 60's and the 70's. These are two of my favorite eras, but the 20's era is still number one. I love the 60's/70's because of the diverse trends, from mini skirts, bold prints, hippie style, skinny jeans and asymmetrical hairstyles. The bob hairstyle I just love, wore that style in the 80's,maybe I'll try it again this year.

My Fav photo of model Linda Evangelista

I love this image, very mod,the look of the 60's style.Love the style of pairing a micro mini with white go go boots. Her hair cut has that 60's flair with a modern touch. You can create fashions from the past with the right styling and makeup in any photo. Vintage stores and thift stores are the best places for fashion stylist, to find pieces for old vintage photo shoots.
